Mali Multimedia is a non-profit organization that teaches the art of photography to marginalized children in Mali. We use photography to capture the imaginations of children, to empower them, building confidence, self-esteem and hope. We share their vision and voices with the world through exhibitions, books, websites and film. We are committed to furthering their general education beyond photography either by linking with local organizations to provide scholarships or by developing our own schools with a focus on leadership and the arts.
Currently, this organization is seeking:
1) a web designer 2) printing services for brochures, postcards, etc. 3) donated space for photography exhibitions 4) donated digital cameras.

We also want to make our bilingual interface work better - this is a design challenge. 3) Mexican and other artists who would be willing to mentor our community artists about how to best interact with the art world.

Antique Theater Seats for Sale, Seeking New Ones

Vortex Theatre has a large refurbishment planned at the end of August. The theatre will be selling 74 antique metal theater seats. The structure of the seats are in great condition although the upholstery must be updated. Seeking someone to purchase them at a great price. These are the kind of chairs that someone could easily reupholster and resell as individual seats or as a whole. Also looking to replace those antique theater seats with approximately 60 new seats. The seats we need can be used, old, new, as long as they are uniform and relatively comfortable. They should be individual seats that can stand on their own.

Mano a Mano Seeks to Create a Portal for Mexican Immigrant Artists

Mano a Mano got a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support Mexican immigrant artists. The first stage of our project is to create a directory, including a minimum of 150 artists in our 5 areas of activity: music, dance, visual arts, verbal arts and ritual and culinary arts. We are fans of cloud computing and use Salesforce.com and Google Apps. We are hoping to link create a portal on our site that can be populated with entries in our database through a simple template. We hope to give artists - many who may have no other access - the opportunity to create and modify a personal webpage. Our goal is to help artists professionalize and ultimately find gainful employment in their creative fields.
If you can volunteer to help us create our artists' portal, we want to hear from you.
