Energy Vision - Energy Vision is a national non-profit organization analyzing and promoting ways to make a swift transition to pollution-free renewable energy sources and to the clean, petroleum-free transportation fuels of the future.
With our transportation infrastructure so dependant on foreign oils, alternatives are needed. This NFP may be a source of help for me to spread awareness or come up with ideas on how we can fix this for a better tomorrow -Website - http://www.energy-vision.org/
Solar One – Solar ones mission is to empower people of all ages with the vision, knowledge, and resources to attain a more environmentally sound and sustainable future. We embrace this mission through unique initiatives that attract tens of thousands of people each year from throughout the five boroughs of NYC and beyond:
Our education programming engages residents through innovative courses and lectures that focus on renewable energy, green design, and environmental stewardship;
Our clean energy-powered Green Arts programming presents an exciting series of high quality cultural events while demonstrating how we can integrate renewable energy within our daily lives;
Our outreach and advocacy programming builds community and local environmental issues and organizes efforts to effect change that promote a healthier and more sustainable urban environment.
When looking through their site I found a part that deals with transportation through knowledge such as bicycle workshops, and also how they are involved with the new Mets stadium in many aspects including making mass transit more inviting and convenient along with extensive bicycle racks. -Website - http://solar1.org/index.php
Tri State Transportation Campaign - The Tri-State Transportation Campaign is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to reducing car dependency in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Leading environmental and planning organizations formed the Campaign in the early nineties as a response to the mounting economic and environmental costs of automobile and truck dependence and promising reforms in federal transportation policy.
Although their website isn’t as flashy but their mission statement is exactly what I want to deal with for this project. Reducing car dependacy! -Website - http://www.tstc.org/index.html
