• Human Rights Poster: Right to Take Part in Govt. Freely

    Community, Communication Design

This image is inspired by the current situation in the Zimbabwe Presidential Election. The message should read as a person placing their vote into the ballot box but not by their own free will. This is a violation of Article 21 from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which reads as . .

    (1) Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.

Other rights are being violated, but this is the most relevant . I am hoping that this would also be used to deliver the same message on a more universal scale rather than to apply to just the scenario that inspired it.

thanx again, ~Matt Wood (sorry about this late post)

  • Does this design reflect a(n)...

    • well developed and easily understood concept?

The core message is well articulated and easily understood. The graphics are well supported by the text. I would however suggest that you change the word ‘chance’ to ‘change’ to emphasise the the issue at hand as well as the conceptual inspiration.

    • level of social engagement?

    • understanding of the issues reflected in the poster?

    • sense of internationalism and accessibility? Good.
