    Back to the basic: A series of posters will educate young people "what's human rights" are by using simple pictograms and a positive way. The pictograms can convey messages to young people easily and effectively.

  • Does this design reflect a(n)...

    • well developed and easily understood concept?

    This intended conceptual approach might be appropriate for the subject at hand but the selection of symbols to communicate critical messages are mostly meaningless and irrelevant to the audience it intends to address. In Africa we have a saying that the ‘porridge fell on the floor between the pot and the table’ which is exactly what I believe happened here. Your intentions were good but you did not consider or researched the power of visual symbols effectively to convey your messages effectively and inclusively. For instance, the basketball symbol would not be recognised by a broad audience outside of the USA, Canada, Cuba, China and Australia because it is not an popular international sport and therefore the symbol would be meaningless. The use of the ‘W’ to signify water is not relevant because in most countries it would mean ‘women’s toilets’. ‘$’ would mean cash rather than property, your symbol for discrimination is totally unclear in any culture and the same pertains to ‘no acid attract’ (what does this actually mean?). ‘F’ representing food actually means female toilets in many countries, and your proposed image for ‘no torture’ would mean ‘smoking zone’ in many countries.
