History
During the 2007/2008 General Elections, Kenya descended into ethnic chaos that rocked the country into an awareness of past impunity and negativity influenced by ethnic bias.
In 2008 Ihsani Culture House was born with the purpose to design clothing with a purpose -- to give a 'new ethnicity' to all Kenyans through fashion.
Not knowing how exactly I wanted to do it, Ihsani was clear in its mission and slogan 'a new ethnicity' but a vision was lacking.
I need your help social designers. I am creating a blog on a series of possible steps. By laying down the step by step plan/ideas I hope I will see clearly what road Ihsani wants to take to influence 'positive ethnicity' through fashion.
STEP 1: A t-shirt campaign...I AM more...
An ethnic tribe --- a spot in the earth - a drop in the ocean-I hope to have people see themselves n different layers of identity on a global stage
As nouns, depicting different status in occupation, family, vocation and in the world's social make-up. As verbs, descriptive of influence on the global stage and as Adjectives, descriptive of the people's state of being - positive.
But always more...
