art + craft + nature. it's been my entire life. when i was 2 and painted myself moss green, holding a garter snake i found in the yard. when i was 8 and gathered the kids from the neighborhood to paint on my skirts to sell curbside. when i took that first trip to japan at 24, sitting in mr. fujita's house, twisting paper into sweater yarn. it's thrilling to live in a time when people are getting creative with conscious design. at peligrosa, we try to make every step count - from the organic cotton, to the completely natural dye and mordants used for coloring and printing, to the recycled labeling, tagging, and packing. and still, aesthetic is critical - it's love created that finally brings that garment home to your closet. a friend used to say, "You can't buy style." - but i bet with the right knowledge, you can wear it.
