Andrew Yang is an American design journalist currently based in Shanghai, China. He currently focuses on covering architecture, design and culture in Asia, and especially in China, his new adopted home.
A former associate editor for Metropolis magazine and the Architect’s Newspaper, both in New York, he contributes architecture, design, art and cultural coverage primarily to New York– and London-based publications. His articles have appeared in Architectural Record, Dwell, Elle Décor, Frame, Interior Design, Surface, Wallpaper*, W, WWD Scoop, The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune and The Financial Times, among others.
In 2008, he launched 100% Design Shanghai (June 26-28 2008) for Reed Exhibitions, serving as the show's consultant. He continues to direct the event, which will take place from October 15-17, 2009. It is the third destination of the annual design event which first launched in London in 1995, and which now takes place annually in London, Tokyo and Shanghai.
