Mattel has made Barbie greener, from start to finish. No, the design is not biodegradable. Who wants Barbie to melt in the sandbox? Instead, the box is easier to open. In addition, Mattel's factory production has also undergone a process improve. See the clip for yourself.

this is an important issue...starting from the beginning to design something correctly is the right way to do it. I guess we should all read cradle to cradle.

Cradle to Cradle is a great book. Everyone should read it I agree.
