  • I would welcome all views on this subject, especially with anyone who has any insite into UNESCO policy.

    I am interested in what is UNESCO's thinking behind 'cities of design'. What/who has persauded it to believe that design can make a difference to well being in our cities. Have they just listend to design thinking gurus who big up design and its role and effect in society for thier own profit? Isn't it true that what really shapes our urban areas and the well being of the peolpe who live there is governance, planning and ecconomics with design comming well down that list.

    Design matters, but not absolutely?
