Yasuyuki Senda was born in Kyoto, Japan. He studied at the Kyoto Institute of Technology and at the Politecnico di Milano and later worked in Milan at Studio Facente. After returning to Japan, he worked at his family business, 'Studio Karacho' makers of 'Karakami' (woodblock-printed paper). He trained as a craftsman under his father and worked as director of the workshop. Since 2006, he has worked as a freelance designer.
