Men and women relate with space differently , their perceptions and reactions are unique. Society also defines certain parameters within which both are conditioned to behave.
It is strange how men are accustomed to being offered more room in a train compartment while a woman is expected to make herself comfortable in any corner. A lone woman standing in a corner is always looked upon with suspicion while a man in similar circumstances would not be.
This could be a hangover of times lived or just a natural behavioural pattern but slowly this will dimish and make way for more equality with both relating with the environment in the same way .
