As a work of completion for my course I did an iconographic work with members of a "black community" ("Quilombo" in Portuguese).

The project consists of applying a social design in context of the quilombola community Mandira located in the reserve’s environmental Cananéia, Vale do Ribeira - SP. We present the design as a communication tool in the promotion of importance attached by the community visibility and self recognition ensuring and respecting their traditions and uniqueness. The project aims to put forward a graphic design deficiency noted in studies and visits to the quilombola community of Mandira within its cultural context social and economic so that it can actually be consistent with the region and especially with the lifestyle of local residents with In order to benefit them by strengthening their identity feature.

After the work we did (me and the community), I put all the things that I I have collected together in a small box I made. Inside I put some cards with the drawings that I made with them (representing the community - icons) and a poster printed on cloth showing all phases of the project.
