After studying Psychology at Bombay University, conducting door-to-door market research surveys and learning to drill borewells in rural India, Sunil decided to put the combined skills thus acquired to advertising. He got his first copywriting job in 1990. He worked at a frankly alarming number of agencies - Dattaram, Clarion (now Bates), Trikaya Grey (now Grey Worldwide), Nexus Equity (now part of The Interpublic Group), Cosmos, and Concept Communication - before finally settling down to set up The Flea.
His brand experience includes P&G, Philips, Raymonds, Lakme Lever, Cutty Sark, India Today, Boots, Elf Aquitaine Group, Stardust, Akai, Standard Chartered Bank, Sony, The Times of India Group, and Johnson & Johnson, Zingaro Beer, Hoechst, Educomp, Oasis Cellular, State Bank of India, Stanza Fashions, Birla Sunlife Insurance, BSNL, MTNL, Arena Jewellers, Benzer, Malaysian Airlines, South African Airways and Rajasthan Tourism.
Sunil has won several industry awards, including CAG, A&M, AdClub Bombay, IAAFA, British D&AD, New York Festivals, Cannes and Graphis.
He annoys his neighbors with his soulful guitar strumming and is a published poet.
