In 1995 Barro de Gast set up his Design Studio in Milan – He works in various fields of design ranging from industrial design (kitchen utensils & cookware, toys, lighting design), packaging design, to industrial prototyping. His work is inspired by analizing gestures, emphasising function, researching icons and respecting materials for their unique properties. Since 2004 he lectures at the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design), Milano, teaching Design-Methology, and Materials & Technologies.
