Design 21: Social Design Network

I'm from Detroit and design is my passion - cars, clothes, furniture etc. I attended design school at the College of Art and Design, formerly Center for Creative Studies. My professional career started as a concept car designer for Ford Motor. I did 4 years of big corporate before moving to L.A. to work for myself. After the start-up costs became to burdensome, in 2002, I again relocated to Phoenix where I've been designing and manufacturing high-end custom furniture.

I don't actually make the furniture. I employ carpenters for that. My primary role in the company is product development. This year, 2008, we're developing a limited production high-end 'green' furniture line using Bamboo, Palmwood, reclaimed wood and responsibly harvested African exotic woods.

My ultimate goal besides marketing beautiful, fresh and lofty home furnishings around the globe, is to employ as many as I possible can. Yes, I'm on a mission to bring good paying manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.
