Designer (Product Design)

Member since January 11, 2009

Born near Hamburg (Germany), I graduated with a Diploma in Product Design at the University of Applied Science Dresden. Several six-month internships at Neumeister+Partner (Alexander Neumeister) or MA-design (Michael Arpe) accessorily shaped my approach. While my study I worked as a student assistent at the University's department of Design. Prior to that, I completed an 3 year apprentenceship as a cabinetmaker (furniture) in order to gain practical experience.

Post-graduate, I was a scholarship holder at Designlabor Bremerhaven - International Design Institute, where I worked within an interdisciplinary team of Graphic Designer, Product Designer, Architects and sociologist to
prepare a best practice study on unoccupied shop premises on behalf of the city of Bremen and the german ministry of urban development.

During my study I was honoured for prominent achievement and won several international design awards, including a red dot "best of the best" 2008, the VDA international Design award 2006 and the Mia Seeger Design award.

Currently I work as a freelance designer in Germany.

Design is the first impression, it is effective inside and outside. Design creates the structure, it will provide content and transmits messages. Design has the power to change thinking and approaches and draws attention upon itself. Design activates, propels and makes processes visible.
