My name is Wells Mason. My studio is called Ironwood Industries.
Ironwood Industries is a design house. It's also a wood and metal studio. We specialize in custom furniture, contemporary sculpture, and site-specific installations for residential and commercial environments.
I'm the treasurer for the Architectural Artisans Collaborative. This is a not-for-profit group of artists and artisans in the Austin, Texas area who are committed to raising awareness about the importance of art and craft in our society.
I'm a member of the American Craft Council, and I'd like to help this organization become more interdisciplinary and less focused on craft for craft's sake.
I'm on the board of the Coupland Water Supply Corporation. This is essentially the entity that governs sewage concerns in my community. It's not a glamorous job, but somebody has to do it.
I'm on the board of the Huntington Sculpture Foundation. This is a foundation dedicated to preserving the legacy of the American sculptor Jim Huntington.
