Daniel Rehn is a California-based artist, designer, and scientist exploring culture and media. His work transforms ephemeral moments into aesthetic artifacts in the form of visualizations, installations, and interactive experiences. Daniel is a co-founder of the Re:Game research lab and the Playpower Foundation. Additionally, he is creative director for the experimental music label Aesthetic Empiricists and a key member of the low-tech collective Dutycycle.
He is currently creative director for Re:Game at the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts (CRCA) at UC, San Diego. The Re:Game initiative is comprised of several projects in the rapidly developing field of game studies including: Playpower and the Video Gameplay Database (VGDb).
