As a designer, I am passionate about improving the world around me and aim to devote my career and life to this end.
Given the recent rise of socially-minded design ventures, I am interested in the increasing role design and designers play in humanitarian work. By exploring various existing world-changing strategies and creating new partnerships, I hope to define and expand my impact as a designer.
I am an industrial designer who grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and moved eastward to pursue my undergraduate education at Dartmouth College. She has recently received her Masters of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute.
As an active member of New York's design community, I am a member of Project H's New York Chapter, an Intern for Change at Pratt's Center for Sustainable Design Studies and a 2010 Buckminster Fuller Institute Fellow. Prior to entering the field of industrial design I worked at Rogers Marvel Architects in New York.
Approaching design from a background in environmental studies and art, I am passionate about the idea of creating products, systems, and solutions that affect change on numerous scales through careful consideration of aesthetics, materiality, context and intent.
