I am Tiffany Atwood. I am 22 years old and in my senior year at AiA (The Art Institute of Atlanta) for a BFA in Graphic Design. I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia with my Dad, Dennis, my Mama, Tammy, and my little brother, Josh who is 20 years old and in his sophomore year at KSU (Kennesaw State University) for Computer Science. I have a kitty named Cassie, a bird named Stinky, and a salt water aquarium with just one fish in there because he is not a very friendly damsel.
My love for art and creativeness I believe came from my father. During school in elementary and middle, my dad would always help me with my projects, building things and the drawing part. Dad was good with his hands and was the best damn drawer I ever saw. By the time I reached high school, my creativeness and love for art and designed feel into its own. Luckily for me, a new high school was built down the street from me by the time my freshman year ended. Kell High School had the most advanced software and computers in Cobb County making the technology department shine. They offered web classes and graphic arts classes which I took full advantage of. I graduated with 3 years of graphic arts under my belt and knowledge of the software used in the industry.
I decided Senior year of high school that i wanted to continue with graphic design. My teacher always had representatives from different local art schools here in Atlanta come and give the spill. The representative for The Art Institute, sorry but I cant remember her name, really stuck out to me. While doing further research, my family and I decided that The Art Institute of Atlanta was the place for me.
Since I have been at The Art Institute of Atlanta and have joined and been and active member in AIGA, Graphic Design is what I would like to do with my life. I have been named the Female Membership Chair, and officer for AiA's AIGA Student Chapter. I currently have 3 quarters left, including the one we are in, and are very excited to graduate to move to the next stage of my life. I intend to continue school for master's degree shortly after graduation.
