shintaro, I studied your survey results and findings with interest. I think that you may have a very strong idea here. With globalization, people and groups are more mobile, and cross-cultural language problems will probably get more noticeable. I am interested, for example, in beginning to sell my product for blind kids in China, but the language challenges are very high with a product that is so language-intensive as a braille learning curriculum. Similarly, medicines that could either save your life or kill you, depending on how many or often you take it, are probably manufactured in one place and used in another, without any universal language or set of international conventions governing how this should be done. Maybe you could come up with a set of international symbols for how to take medicines, and then turn that into a product design. I once designed a sign that could be used for displaying parking regulations in New York City. It was a single graphical image that showed concentric rings for each day of the week, and the whole thing was broken up into 24 wedges. So you could show exactly which times for which times of day you could or could not park in a parking spot. The sign did not require that you know english, and I think it is easier to understand than the usual four or five signs for one parking place, which no one understands. Are you planning on doing something like that, but for medicine? steven

Shintaro, here is my design for a universal language parking sign. What do you think?
