  • Life in Madagascar

This is a post that will be helpful to people who wish to design for rural Africa

My best friend from Hong Kong, Robynne, is studying Medicine in England. As a summer program for the medicine students, she traveled with a group to Madagascar last summer to teach children about hygiene.

I asked her to share with me her photos from the trip- and here they are I also added some extracts from emails she sent me of her experiences that might be interesting to some.

I found these very helpful, showing the local community doing their laundry, kids running around (shoe-less), the fields and animals, the houses and schools. (distinguish between the rural and urban scenarios)

If you would like more information from Robynne, or ask questions, let me know. hope some will find this helpful!
