douglas,
my mother used to flash the basement lights on and off when my father came home from work and I had to stop playing drums, so I know what you are talking about. But I don't really understand what this has to do with your thesis. have you made any progress towards converting your interests and experiences to an actual designable thing? As a member of the brotherhood of drummers, I am counting on your to come up with something worthy. Don't tell anyone, but I have a theory that drumming builds synaptic connections that make us more creative than regular people. There is something about the improvisational aspects of drumming, where all four limbs are moving in a synchronized, yet very loose way for extended periods that causes some form of brain exercise (or damage, its unclear which).

You were going to get arrested? and yet the metro north can go when ever it wants making as much noise or more as a drum? maybe this just proves how hard it is to drum in private?
