Rodrigo Velasco was born in Mexico City in 1977 and was formed in architecture and Urban planning at the Universidad Iberoamericana From 1998 to 2004. After working In some important architecture offices in Mexico City, he teamed up with Enrico Gianfranchi, visual designer. Worried to find new creative routes, and to experiment with work methods, they found Roof Office in 2007. The office appears as an option to face new challenges of the contemporary times. Designing experiences that go beyond mere form and function, finding new addresses on the practice of architecture and design. The Department of Architecture of Roof Office is always pursuing of projects that represent a particular challenge in design and believes in architecture as a reflex of the thought and the social characteristics of a time it happens. Making investigations and finding factors inside the needs of the user, explores different ways of to approach issues and pull down myths, using technological resources, via new materials, structural techniques and constructive methods to relates them directly to the needs in every one of the office’s projects. Rodrigo Velasco also is a professor at the Design School of the Universidad Anahuac, since 2007.
