Todd Childers is a tenured Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the School of Art at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He has taught at BGSU from 1994 to the present. He has also taught at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy in 1996 and at Western Carolina University School of Art , Cullowhee, NC in 1994. He has earned two degrees in graphic design. He received a Master of Fine Art in Visual Communication from California Institute of the Arts in 1993 and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Visual Design Degree from the North Carolina State University School of Design in Raleigh, NC in 1986.
His designs have been selected for the Graphisme Collection of the Bibliotech Nationale in Paris in 2005, the Siggraph Digital Art Gallery in 2000 and American Center for Design 100 Show in 1996. His designs have been published in 23 graphic design journals from 1993 to the present. Most notably six designs were selected for Steven Heller’s Letterforms: Bawdy, Bad and Beautiful.
He has held Non-Academic Positions at Focus Group, Inc. Chapel Hill, NC in 1993. In 1992 Todd was selected to be the Graphic Design Exhibit Design Intern at National Air & Space Museum Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. From 1989-1991 he was the Senior Corporate Graphic Designer in the Industrial Design Department of American Yard Products, Inc. in Orangeburg, SC. From 1988-1989 Todd practiced environmental Graphic Designer at Land Design/Research International Columbia, MD.
