I love design. I live and breathe it every day and I hope my passion fuels my students with the same sort of appreciation that I have for my own work. I know, though, the impact design and advertising has on our global community and during graduate school I dedicated myself to producing only sustainable design for the greater good.
It is that spirit and with that goal that I have become an active member of the educational community and why I have developed GD391: Social Awareness for Graphic Design. I am also in the process of writing a book about the social impact of graphic design and advertising.
Professionally, I'm a BFA graduate in graphic design from Auburn, an MFA graduate from SCAD, the assistant chair of graphic design and photographic imaging at The Art Institute of Atlanta, and a gun for hire at o • interactive.
Socially aware clients of mine include Birkenstock, the Addy Awards, and The GAiA Initiative.
My accolades include being named a Who's Who Amongst American Business Women honoree, a United Way service award winner, an Addy Award winner and participant, an AIGA award winner, and a winner and participant in various applied art exhibitions. I have also been published in many media outlets like Adbusters and Visual Resistance. Most recently I've been invited to do a hands-on workshop entitled SAVVY: Web Design for Print Designers at this year's Social Studies Design Conference sponsored by AIGA.
