I teach design studies and industrial design at the University of Washington in Seattle, on the west coast of the United States, and write about design, manufacturing, the environment, and society. I've previously worked as a toy designer, architectural researcher, and product designer. My research explores how we can make complex objects and systems like computers and transportation devices without high energy materials or processes.
