RFID Device and System for Storing Patients' Medical Histories

It is too hard to transfer the medical history of a patient from past doctor to the new doctor, and when a patient is unconscious in an emergency, it is extremely hard for paramedics to know about the medical information of the patient.

MedX is a portable and affordable device with a standardized system that provides accurate and immediate medical history of a patient while maintaining their privacy through RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) technology.

MedX allows the doctor to provide appropriate medical care to each patient and illiminate guesswork in emergency situations. It provides peace of mind for patients as well as doctors.

Although the current target of MedX is with U.S, I plan to collaborate with doctors in Africa as this would also be the ideal solution for Africa due to its convenience and affordability.

  • Hannah,

I've been invited to give feedback to all Parsons students, regarding your thesis projects.

MedX is a very interesting solution that aligns with the long-proposed notion of a "paperless" society. It also allows for seamless integration of data at a moment's notice, in life or death scenarios. How do you propose data gets collected and knitted together into a database, however? I wonder if there are larger issues surrounding this you need to invite into the design, say, getting health care providers and insurers talking to each other and sharing information?

In this regard, starting in America might very well be more challenging than beginning elsewhere, like Africa or Brazil or India. Look into it, in terms of prototyping the concept. (You've suggested Africa, which is great.)

Provide a little more information about HOW this system will actually work, and how it needs to change depending on culture, context, etc. In theory, it's brilliant. Thanks!
