With a degree and a master in product design, I work in the field of international cooperation in the developing world, taking part in projects relating to the handicraft sector reality. I have worked in Brazil, Morocco and Rwanda from 2005 My final Master thesis was a research focused on the strategic role of design as a potential tool to recover and retrain the handicraft inheritance in developing country. This bring me to work as project manager, researcher and trainer in the Atelier Rwanda project, a long-term workshop focused on research and innovated design in Africa organized in collaboration with the Iuav University of Venice and the Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) in Kigali, Rwanda. With Atelier Rwanda I have found also an opportunity to work and make experience in the educational field. So after that I held a professorship in the department of Creative Design at KIST, Rwanda and as assistant lecturer in the Master of Design for Cooperation and Sustainable Development at Iuav of Venice in Italy. From 2011 I have been working on a project in Rwanda financed by the UNESCO. The goals were training focused on technical innovation to improve local manufacturing skills with the preservation of Rwandan traditional craft. So at the end in 2012 born nyanzabijou, a new Rwandan brand of jewellery made by crafts women of Agatako Rwanda and CAMK cooperative specialized on that. I am working like brand designer, product designer and project manager for Agatako Rwanda cooperative. I am proud to note that our first jewelry collection was awarded by the Rwandan government as the Best Cooperative in its category. As an easy-going person, I adapt myself to different realities and use this ability to research and discover ways to proceed with the development design steps. I believe that design can really create different networks of social relations and improve societies because it is a cultural vehicle to update knowledge and learn to know the other.
