BTW im Dan Matutina. I graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, Major in Visual Communication. ‘ got really interested in film making after I got a film grant from Fuji Film back in college for the short film Biyaheng Barya. After that I spent the whole Summer at a Film Institute, and learned Cinematography and Video Editing.
After school I worked as an advertising art director for 3 years, ' won a few awards along the way both in press and film (locally and internationally). ' represented the country in the Young Creatives competition at the AdFest in Thailand.
Presently, with 4 of my good friends (a lot are college mates), we made a communications/design shop which serves development orgs and NGOs – Idea!s. We've worked with really inspiring people in the nonprofit sector and it's been a fulfilling job so far. Aside from my creative duties in the company, I scour for clients, plan comms strategies, upgrade computers, do IT work, clean the office and brew coffee for my teammates. :D
Apart from idea!s i teach video production in a design institute and hypermedia in the UP College of Fine Arts. Fortunately, I still have time to cook up other projects: I'm trying to finish a miniseries called HUKS, a bunch of illustrations about speech balloons and creating bracelets out of twisted metal forks.
