Abigail Doan is a mixed media, fiber, and environmental artist who lives in New York City and Italy. She is a contributing editor to the DIY 'craftivity' site, Supernaturale.com, and is a contributing writer to Inhabitat.com, the sustainable design weblog. She has exhibited her work in numerous international exhibitions and is a featured artist on Greenmuseum.org, the online environmental art museum. Her work has been included most recently in UNEP's World Environment Day, Fiber National 2007, The Seed Project, Stretched Threads at The Atlantic Center for The Arts as well as in the periodical, Knit Knit 7, and the book, 'Craftivity: 40 Projects for the DIY Lifestyle'.
Abigail is currently designing and creating prototypes for 'airloft gardens' and 'seeded canopies' on her farm in rural Italy. It is her goal to use fiber to green those spaces that we perceive to be ethereal and uninhabitable.
