ProyectArte is a New York City-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates, develops, and supports innovative arts projects around the world. ProyectArte’s first initiative is the ProyectArte School, founded in 2002 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the school, talented and underprivileged youth ages 15 to 18 receive merit-based scholarships to study painting with some of Argentina’s most distinguished artists (with works in top museums around the world such as MoMA in New York). Despite their young age, students and graduates of ProyectArte have exhibited and sold their works throughout the world, including a 2005 exhibition at the Chelsea Art Museum in New York. Additionally, as a way to expand ProyectArte’s impact and encourage scholarship-recipients giving back to their communities, older ProyectArte students conduct student-led art workshops for young schoolchildren in some of Argentina’s poorest public schools.
