    Education is not free in Sierra Leone. Most children do not have access to books, paper or even pencils. The gift of a year of education is a gift these children will never forget.

  • Easy and Real: Giving real help instead of stuff

    This is such an easy thing to do. Last year on Mother's Day I gave a donation to habitat for humanity in my mom's name, instead of flowers. She's tough to buy for...and she was really happy with the gift.

    Do we need more stuff? No. But we can use special occasions to give real gifts to the really needy.

    Thanks to Dan Kelly for reminding me how little it takes to make a big impact.
