EARTH ADVANTAGE EARTH DAY RUN

Earth Advantage is hosting the 1st Annual Earth Day 10K/5K run April 25th, 2009 in recognition of sustainable developments, green living, & healthy life styles.

Included with registration: Snacks, beverages, music, race t-shirts & finisher medal, along with enjoyable times for all!

Beneficiary

Portion of net proceeds are shared with Friends of Trees that helps bring people in the Portland - Vancouver metro area together to plant and care for city trees and urban natural areas.

Starting Times

6:45am - Registration Opens - Race packet pick up (located next to Earth Advantage office)

7:00am - Gear Check-in

8:00am - 10K Run Starts8:15am - 5K Run/Walk/Doggy Walk (please note, if you wish to have your dog involved, you can ONLY walk your canine friend for the safety of other runners. Please, only well temperament dogs allowed).

10:00am - Kid’s “Recycle” Race (Fun Race of ages 4-12 years old).

History

Earth Advantage Institute® (EAI) began nearly a decade ago as a utility-based energy conservation program of Portland General Electric. In the spring of 2005, EAI became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Since that time, the organization has established itself as the Northwest’s premier service provider of green building programs in the residential market.

Earth Advantage Institute certifies homes as a third-party verifier for the ENERGY STAR® and LEED® for Homes programs, as well as for its own residential, commercial, communities, and remodeling programs. In addition, EAI provides green design and consulting services, conducts education and training seminars, and is a key contributor to the development of green building standards. The organization includes over 400 builders, remodelers, and sponsors throughout Oregon, Southwest Washington, and Northern California, with licensed partners in the seven Northeastern states.
