In honor of the 200th birthday of Robert Schumann, the Argento Chamber Ensemble presents a concert of three perspectives on the composer:
• Franz Liszt, piano transcriptions of two Schumann songs, Liebeslied (Widmung) and Frühlingsnacht, played by pianist Joanna Chao
• György Kurtág, Hommage à R. Sch., featuring clarinetist Carol McGonnell, violist Stephanie Griffin, and pianist Joanna Chao
• Kimmy Szeto, transcription for chamber ensemble of Schumann, Symphony No. 2, Opus 61, featuring the Argento Chamber Ensemble conducted by Michel Galante
The event will take place at the Chelsea Art Museumon Tuesday, June 22, at 7:30 pm. General admission is $15 and students and seniors are $10. CAM members are free.
