THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION
The Media Communications Association International (MCAI) is a community of professionals who provide the content for and the delivery of media communication to businesses and other end users around the world; companies that employ or commission their goods and services; suppliers to the industry; educators and students.
Founded in 1968, MCAI today serves over 1,200 members in 26 chapters and affiliates throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. It is a thoroughly diverse organization that includes writers, producers, editors, camera operators, lighting designers, graphic artists, marketing executives, performers, and several other media sub-sectors.
Mission
The purposes of the Media Communications Association International is to:
Provide for its members opportunities for personal and professional enrichment through activities that offer business advancement, networking, and learning.
Foster and promote high professional standards in the media communications industry and provide leadership for those entering the field.
Be a primary channel for the exchange of information among media communications practitioners, suppliers, and end users.
THE NEW YORK CHAPTER
The New York Chapter is one of MCAI ’s largest, with members and subscribers throughout the New York Tri-state Area who do business across the country and around the globe.
Located in the cultural and financial capital of the world, MCAI NY is an especially vibrant chapter, offering its members and guests a rich variety of programs and events throughout the year. Each season, MCAI NY presents several industry seminars and social events and a film festival, Stories from the Field, which is presented in cooperation with the United Nations and The New School.

Linda Lopez is the president of the New York chapter and a board member of the international organization.
