D.R.E.A.M. Centers' mission is to bring art into the lives of underprivileged children who otherwise may not have opportunities to develop their talents and abilities, on the belief that creative expression empowers children.
Artistic activities address the basic needs and rights of children for building creativity and self-esteem, working on personal issues and traumas. The DREAM Centers provide a place where children can express themselves freely in a safe, culturally aware environment. The center provides instructions in art, dance, music, and sometimes sport activities. Current established locations include Kabul, Afghanistan; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and Monrovia, Liberia. Another one is currently under construction East Jerusalem.
D.R.E.A.M. Centers are funded by UNESCO/ Tribute 21 Fund. It is the direct beneficiary of the sale of Trtbute 21 Plates, a project of Felissimo Corporation under which celebrities and well-known personalities donatte a plate design. The project itself was launched in 1996, but since Tribute 21 Fund was established at UNESCO in 2003 it has been administered jointly with Felissimo, for the specific purpose of building D.R.E.A.M. Centers.
