STARS ACCESSORIZE FOR A CAUSE AT THE 2007 GOLDEN GLOBES

New York, NY (January 15, 2007) – Stars at the 2007 Golden Globes wore a different kind of bling, making a social design statement with the sleek, new Allumonde™ ring.
The new Allumonde ring, derived from “allumer le monde” meaning “light the world,” is the symbol of DESIGN 21: Social Design Network™. The network is a new online community dedicated to addressing global social needs, such as poverty, health, education, peace and the environment, through design. Proceeds from the rings, which were showcased this weekend to stars who attended the GBK Productions’ Golden Globes Gifting Suite at The Friars Club of Beverly Hills, support a large network of non-profit organizations worldwide and allow individuals to direct proceeds to their charity of choice.
Stars at this weekend’s Golden Globes that slipped on the new Allumonde ring and directed proceeds to the charity of their choice included: Leonardo Dicaprio (The Departed - nominee), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland –nominee), Kevin Dillon (Entourage), Charlie Sheen (Two and a Half Men), Joanie Dodds (America’s Next Top Model, Season 6), Lisa D’Amato (America’s Next Top Model Season 5), Andrea Bowen (Desperate Housewives), Seth Green (Austin Powers), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), James Pickens (Grey’s Anatomy), James Lesure (Las Vegas), Mario Lopez (Dancing With The Stars), Louis Lombardi (24), Hunter Parrish (Weeds), Autumn Reeser (The O.C.), Blair Underwood (The New Adventures of Old Christine), Camryn Manheim (Ghost Whisperer), and Kevin Sorbo (The O.C., Andromeda), among others.
By wearing the cause, celebrities and socially conscious individuals alike joined a distinguished group of influential members who wear the cause and make a bold statement. Wearing the Allumonde ring symbolizes commitment to the cause, connection to one another and continuity to the cycle of giving.
21% of all proceeds from every Allumonde ring are donated - 19% to the charity or non-profit organization (NPO) of the celebrities choice and 2% to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). The ring was designed exclusively for the Social Design Network by renowned furniture and industrial designer Richard Hutten.
