  • MCAI New York DESIGN WISH LIST

Media Communications Association International, New York Chapter, United States

    Communication, Communication Design

    1. New Web Site www.StoriesfromtheField.org is now an ASP site, spun off from the MCAI New York Web site www.mcainy.org. We would like a newly designed site that reflects the character of the event it represents, Stories from the Field, the United Nations Documentary Film Festival. We can provide front-end support, site map, storyboarding, and all content; what we need is design and backend development.

    2. New Web Site Media Communications Association International, New York www.mcainy.org has outgrown its ASP beginnings and needs more flexibility to update and rearrange content. As one of 26 MCA-I chapters, we have access to a template used by our parent organization and many of the other chapters – but no obligation to use it. What we would like to do is reflect the identity of the parent organization but have a different architecture. As with the Stories site (above), we can provide front-end support, site map, storyboarding, and all content; what we need is design and backend development.

It would be ideal if these two projects could be done by the same team. We would recognize the designers on both sites and give them sponsor status at our 2008 Stories from the Field film festival. See our 2007 Sponsor Incentive packages here for an idea of the kinds of visibility we can offer.

Spice up an office - Interior Designers Needed!

    Echoing Green, United States

    Community, Communication Design

We moved into our mid-town office a few months ago and have been lost in the drab world of white walls and tan carpet. We are about to embark on a journey to select bright paint colors and purchase much needed chairs, etc. but we could really use someone with an interior design background on the following: 1) Help us figure out how to decorate. We have some ideas but need a profesional 2) Help us identify the best furniture to purchase given our budget.

Our timeline is now, so please call Lara Galinsky at 212-400-3953 or lara@echoinggreen.org if you are interested. Should be a fun project!

    Photographic Exhibition Project Manager

Global Action Foundation (GAF), United States

    Education, Communication Design

The story of need for the victims of civil war and extreme poverty in Sierra Leone is dramatically told in the photography of Sarah Bones.

A photographic exhibition of Sarah's work would raise awareness bringing these needs and stories to the attention of a larger audience who might help with solutions to these problems.

Any one who would like to help GAF find a way to make this photo exhibition a reality would make a true contribution to victims of extreme poverty.

  • Mano a Mano Seeks to Create a Portal for Mexican Immigrant Artists

Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders, United States

    Arts & Culture, Communication Design

Mano a Mano got a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support Mexican immigrant artists. The first stage of our project is to create a directory, including a minimum of 150 artists in our 5 areas of activity: music, dance, visual arts, verbal arts and ritual and culinary arts. We are fans of cloud computing and use Salesforce.com and Google Apps. We are hoping to link create a portal on our site that can be populated with entries in our database through a simple template. We hope to give artists - many who may have no other access - the opportunity to create and modify a personal webpage. Our goal is to help artists professionalize and ultimately find gainful employment in their creative fields.

If you can volunteer to help us create our artists' portal, we want to hear from you.
