Stories Spiral

by Nicole Ellingson

For this logo, I wanted to capture the action that is implied in the title, “Stories from the Field.” In this case, the stories are actually spiraling out towards you “from the field,” or from the camera lens that is illustrated. Through it’s outward spiral, the stories create a rippling effect of change. This spiraling effect can also look like an unraveling film reel. There are eight components that make up the mark to highlight the eight UN goals, and the mark also symbolizes the rejuvenation and rebirth that the goals will hopefully achieve. The mark also represents a lens, or eye, that is watching and capturing global issues, spiraling outward to bring what is seen to the film festival theatre. The circular element can also represent a globe, our center, and home.
