This logo originated through the combination of multiple symbols. The evolution began with abstract hands cradling the globe to symbolize the humanitarian efforts of the UN. It then morphed into a camera lens or eye closing in upon itself, which speaks to the film element and how these documentaries shed light on global issues through their lens. The globe/lens element also speaks towards sustainability and recycling, as does the color palette. There are eight fronds/fingers framing the central element to symbolize the eight UN goals. They also play off of the laurels in the original UN logo design, as well as the laurels often seen in film festival awards. The logo design as a whole is relative to both the MCA and UN logos to establish a family of awareness.
