STORIES FROM THE FIELD logo competition

UN Film Logos

by Kwesi

In the first entry, I chose to use a silohette of a Masai warrior to represent the global citizen, because of their nomadic nature. I envisioned filmmakers in far off parts of the globe traveling - much like the Masai- through their communities to document untold stories. The rugged stencil font was used to farther emphasis the sense of travel.

In the second entry, I fashioned a strip a film into a ribbon bracketed by the leaves of the UN logo. Over the years, the symbol of the ribbon has come to represent support and awareness for varies causes. I used the symbolism in this logo to represent the overall purpose of the festival - to promote awareness of global issues by showcasing thought-provoking documentaries.
