Zoomed Eye

by Jacinto Salcedo

Looking at the eye / watching through the eye / showing to the eyes. The paradox of inside-outside point of view in documentary films. That is the strength of the use of visual media to develop Human Rights discourses. But this is not a regular eye; the zoom shows the expression of fear, it is introspection to the human nature: that “there is something wrong here”. This illustrated eye is made from color lines that converge from outside into the pupil (representing diversity, like for a film festival. The typography reinforces the idea of zoom-perspective. The total look is an open organic-like logo.

In addition, the eye shown in the logo has the mark that leaves the visor from the video or film cameras (like a circle surrounding the eye). This is a personal wink for the cameraman and camerawoman behind documentary films.
