The logo design represents two important aspects of the UN documentary film festival: borderless communications and the global audience.

The logo signifies people from different background being connected through the letter 's' which was derived from 'Stories", to visually reinforce the purpose of the festival. A circle around the logo shows unity and the global significance of the event.

The sans serif typeface was chosen to refer to the timeliness of the issues covered in all documetary films.
