Stories from the Field - Conceptual

Trying to stick with an icon that could be easily conveyed across many different cultures and regions. At first I tried using natural elements such as trees and fields but after some tests I found these concepts to be more local to particular regions so I moved to more universal ideas. I thought about the industry and I suddenly thought about "depth of field" or "field of perception" which lead me to a standing frame that could also be symbolic of an entrance. I then created some depth with a shadow to the frame. In the end I finally choose a courier type font to symbolize a documentary and "wah-lah." I did however keep in mind that it was a festival of professionals and reserved a feeling of elegance.
