The message behind this logo is to show the potential of film to “break the chains” of oppression. The United Nations has brought major issues facing the world to our attention through the Millennium Goals. This logo shows how film, through its ability to educate and inspire, can help move us further toward these goals. With a film reel that turns into a broken chain, this logo represents film’s ability to spur people into action and start making changes. Film has always had the power to make us care about the story it tells. Now the United Nations is harnessing that power to bring attention to the various crises we now face.
