Stories From the Field Identity

This logotype was a result of research and conceptualisation focussed on a number of concepts we believe are central to the tone of the Festival.
The idea of ‘the field’ was explored as a global field that could take any form, from war torn deserts to urban favellas to ancient rain forest, thus it is one that is very hard to represent in it’s simplest form. The horizon is often the best way to capture/describe any given field regardless of content or location. Central to the development of the identity was the concept of ‘exposure’. This idea is applied both as the film makers exposure to challenging surrounds and conditions, the film makers exposure to a broader audience through the festival and the audiences exposure to provocative experiences through the festival. This notion of exposure informed the typeface development and structure.
