I simply used a forced connection between a clenched fist and a film stripe to create the logo. I used a clenched fist, because of the connection with human rights issues and the historical idea behind the fist. The human hand has been used in art from the very beginnings, starting with examples in the Neolithic cave paintings. The fist, or versions of it, have appeared in numerous posters and flyers for student, antiwar, women's, and other political activities.
I believe the connection of the fist with the film stripe connects the viewers with the festival and the connection with the films which are about global humanitarian and human rights issues.
