I decided to focus my work not in a country or region but yes in a global context, which suffers several and various natural “attacks”, that is, disasters of natural causes.
Based in the concepts of shelter, flexibility, adaptation and movement I developed a modular system that goes to towards the demanded necessities, that module is constituted by a nucleus that will be unfolded in 5 parts. In a destruction context, hunger, cold and disorientation the shelter that I propose will have importance in a social direction in the sense of the standard change, when allowing that the dislodged people interact and if they become active citizens in the reorganization thus creating a responsibility and property sense the the families. The several configurations of the shelter have as concept and base the native communities that organize all its habitation.
The nucleus, that could be transported by air, terrestrial or even by sea, will have in its interior the full set up structure, that is, the whole unitary part is initially mounted. Just like a flower that opens and closes, my refuge will have the same mechanics and appearance, when closed it will present an aspect of a hexagonal solid and when opened it will look like a 6 petals flower but with the particularitity of a lacking petal, that is, 5 petals that represent the five continents, and an empty place which will be the entrance. Each “petal” in its interior has the possibility to lodge 1 or 2 people where a mattress exists. In the hexagonal form, with the shelter open (mounted), one of the sides only serves as entry hall. The coverings of the “petals” are made of “canvases” that work as folds with diverse connecting rods when the opening or close of the shelter occurs.
