lifeLINK Modular Shelter

by jordan cleland

This shelter is designed with community values in mind. Living is easier when we can help each other out, this is especially so in disaster situations. The intended setting is moderate to colder climates. Each unit is made of self skinning foam with 1000 denier nylon walls. The units are vacuum packed during manufacturing so when the package is ripped open it slowly inflates itself. Multiple units are then zipped together with side flaps to form larger units and a plastic and velcro sheet covers it. This creates a central "sunroom" that can be accessed from any of the smaller units. Ease of use combined with aesthetic form and fuctionality, make these shelters an ideal choice in many disaster situations.
